Finally, some future application prospects of piezoelectric composites are presented, and problems to be addressed for practical engineering applications are reviewed.Ī.R. Piezoelectric material composites have been widely used in structural health monitoring, wearable intelligent devices, health care, and energy collection. It overcomes the shortcomings of single-phase materials, and has properties that single-phase materials do not have, according to design requirements. Piezoelectric composite material is an important new multifunctional and intelligent material with broad application prospects. Thereafter, research progress in the preparation, experiments, theory, and modeling of piezoelectric composites is reviewed. The crucial factors that influence the performance of piezoelectric composites, such as connection type, space size, functional phase type, matrix phase type, dosage, molding process, and polarization process, are discussed, as are current advances in polymer piezoelectric composites and cementitious piezoelectric composites. First, contemporary piezoelectric materials and piezoelectric composites are classified. This paper briefly reviews the development history of piezoelectric materials and piezoelectric composites, followed by a brief description of contemporary advances in piezoelectric composites.
